Partner Participation and Support Services
Participating Partners in the Caring Connections program are empowered to provide free, hometown and church-based support to caregivers and their loved ones who are experiencing dementia or age-related cognitive decline. This initiative is designed to foster community involvement and ensure meaningful assistance to affected families.
Program Start-Up Requirements
The start-up phase for each leadership group requires approximately 25 to 30 hours. During this period, Partners are given a comprehensive program module to guide their efforts and are offered hands-on training both on-site and in coordination with other Caring Connections partners. This ensures that each Partner is well-prepared to deliver effective support. There is a limited amount of funding available to assist with supply and material costs.
Collaboration and Problem Solving
Caring Connections encourages collective problem solving and the sharing of activity ideas through its Steering Committee. Each Partner is represented on the Committee by a designated volunteer, fostering a collaborative environment where best practices and innovative approaches can be exchanged.
Access to Information and Resources
The Steering Committee has privileged access to valuable information resources through collaboration with UCA’s Community Clinic’s dementia program, as well as other community partners. This network provides ongoing support and guidance, ensuring that Partners have the tools they need to serve caregivers and their loved ones effectively.
