Program Model

The Caring Connections: Respite and Support for Caregivers program is free of charge and features two components that occur simultaneously: the Caregiver Connect Coffee and Respite.

The Connect Coffee provides a space for caregivers to informally visit and share stories and tips or take self-care time while activities are provided for loved ones participating in respite in an adjacent area. Twenty to thirty-minute quarterly informative programs (Jan/April/July/Oct) assist caregivers with topics of interest.

The Respite session lasts 2-3 hours and features a variety of engaging and meaningful activities for loved ones, including live music, guided movement or exercise, and creative projects. Activities are led by trained volunteers in a safe environment and are designed to promote joy, purpose and connection.(copy additional specific verbiage from Leigh’s PowerPoint description used for workshops)

Friends, family and church members celebrate and problem-solve together. Be part of an all-volunteer coalition to support and celebrate free services for caregivers in the Central Arkansas area. See “Locations” for more information.

Sometimes asking for help is the most meaningful example of self-reliance.”
