Who We Are
We are trained professionals and volunteers who have gathered to provide free support for caregivers.
OUR HISTORY: Conversations and research by caregivers starting a respite program for Conway FUMC revealed the need for a wider community-based approach.
OUR PURPOSE: We welcome caregivers of loved ones living with dementia or age-related cognitive decline, as well as their family members and friends.
OUR PROGRAM: Caring Connections is designed for anyone seeking support, meaningful engagement, and a safe nurturing environment within our community.
OUR MISSION: Caring Connections provides a free volunteer-based program that offers monthly opportunities for caregivers to connect for shared social support and/or enjoy self-care time while loved ones participate in 2 to 3 hours of purposeful and meaningful respite care activities featuring live music, guided movement/exercise, and creative projects.

OUR VISION: Caring Connections hopes to grow a Central Arkansas network of congregations that host the Caring Connections model program, thereby providing free hometown and church-based support for caregivers and respite activities for loved ones with dementia and age-related illness. Organizers from each participating church elect a congregational representative to serve on the Caring Connections Steering Committee that will review and maintain the model program and conduct training for participating churches. Information about program protocols, administration and fundraising is included as part of group workshops provided as available.*
